Zayra DJ on Today Dance Radio
Gianpiero Gemelli, also known by the pseudonym Zayra DJ (Foligno, September 28, 1967), is an Italian DJ specializing in Afro, Funky, and House music. He is the founder of #Studio47!, an editing studio focused on music production.
In 1983, at the age of 16, he joined the staff of the "Euphoria" nightclub in Assisi as a resident DJ and was reconfirmed for the next three years.
From that moment on, he began performing in clubs and discos throughout Central Italy, alternating between the roles of resident DJ and guest DJ at various events, special nights, festivals, and Afro gatherings.
His sets span the genres of Funky and Afro, with a particular preference for the latter, which has always been his greatest passion.
Since 2015, he has been teaching mixing techniques at the DJ Academy School in Foligno (PG).
With the forced break due to the pandemic, he also expanded his work in the studio, creating two radio programs: "African Dreams" and "From Disco and NuDisco".
Both programs received an excellent response from the audience right away and are now broadcast on over 100 radio stations in Italy, Finland, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, the United States, and Canada.
In 2022, he opened #Studio47!, where creativity meets technology to create unique sound experiences. It is an editing studio that deals with the creation, manipulation, and implementation of sounds for various media, including films, video games, advertisements, and music productions.

Zayra DJ plays her radio show From Disco and NuDisco on Today Dance Radio on the first Saturday of the month at 11:00 PM, with a rerun the following day at 5:00 AM (Italian time).
